Entity Involved is a living archive of creative work by Nicole Cortes, also known as Feunica. It is a space for storytelling through visual media, poetry, music, and art-led events. This site exists to document, connect, and inspire—offering a glimpse into past projects, collaborations, and conceptual explorations.
Letter from Nicole:
Hi, welcome. My name is Nicole Cortes. I was born in Mexico City and raised in South Florida by a Mexican mother and a Cuban father. I am currently based in Atlanta, Georgia. My deep connection to my roots has shaped my passionate nature and heightened my sensibility toward the arts. I believe art is the language of the spirit—an essential muscle to exercise and explore.
My curiosity has kept me jumping between styles, genres, and subcultures — never settling into a singular identity. As a teenager, I stumbled upon the beauty of DIY culture. The ethos of “Don’t like what you see? Do something.” moved me deeply—it made community feel possible, even if fleeting.
I never stopped jumping around, and now I embrace that.
DIY history led me to zines, and zines led me to something tangible. A few years later, I turned a collection of unconventionally proper, gritty, mundane photos into zines—pairing them with release events featuring some of the most important acts in South Florida’s music scene. No funding, just pitch and play. The rewards of those experiences lit a candle in me, and I plan to keep it burning for as long as I can.
I believe we all are assigned a candle of sorts, and sometimes it gets lost.
It is crucial that we dig for it, and encourage others to do the same.
