Abysmo

Abysmo explores the tension between surrender and resilience, between the abyss and the act of defying it. Borrowing from Iggy Pop’s haunting lyrics in The Pure and the Damned, "Death, make me brave. Death, leave me swinging." captures the heart of this project: the way we teeter between destruction and transformation, between losing ourselves and becoming something new.

This zine is about identity in flux, about staring into the abyss and deciding time and time again to transform. "Make me brave" is the plea, the hope that pain can forge something stronger. "Leave me swinging" is the will to persist. It’s about the cycle of breaking and remaking, the way death—whether literal or symbolic—presses against us, demanding to know who we really are.

Here, death is not just an ending. It is a force that strips away the false, the fragile, the comfortable. What’s left is raw, real, and still swinging.
